What does an engagement cost?#
Engagements are quoted. Diagnostic, advisory, build and coaching all carry scope, so the number follows what is in the work and what the output has to answer. You get a written scope and a number before anything starts, and neither moves without a conversation. Nothing here is productised yet, which is why there is no rate card or starting price published on this site. A diagnostic that answers one question is a different piece of work from a build that stands up a new comp plan, or a coaching engagement that runs for a quarter, and each is scoped and quoted on its own terms. The four ways in, diagnostic, advisory, build and coaching, are different shapes of work with their own scope, and most engagements move between more than one of them over time. The number always follows the scope, never the other way round.
Do you bill by the hour?#
Scoped work is the default, because a defined outcome is easier for both sides to hold. Where the scope genuinely cannot be pinned down up front, an hourly arrangement can be the sensible way in. Raise it on the call and we will work out which fits.
How is this different from hiring someone?#
A hire owns the function for years. I am brought in when the decision or the build is in front of you now and you want it done by someone who has run one before. Engagements are scoped to end, and what gets built stays with you. That also sets this apart from a fractional executive arrangement. Fractional work is one open-ended commitment for a slice of every week. An engagement here is a sequence of bounded pieces of work: a diagnostic, then advisory, then a build, then coaching, each with its own start and its own end. You commission a specific answer or a specific build, and the relationship continues for as long as there is a next piece of work worth commissioning. Many clients come back for the next stage. None are committed beyond the one they are in.
Do you implement the systems?#
Yes, and I have. I have consolidated CRM, CPQ, billing and renewals into a single global stack and built the reporting that runs on top of it, so this is not work I hand off on principle. The value is in the design. A system built on an undecided motion works exactly as specified and changes nothing, which is why a build engagement follows a settled motion rather than substituting for one. Where the work needs specialist platform hands at volume, I will say so and work alongside them against a specification you own.
Who does the work?#
I do. Proventarc is expert-oriented and founder-led, so the person you meet on the introductory call is the person on the engagement.
Where do you work?#
Based in London. Engagements run across the UK, EMEA and the US. Working sessions are online by default, with time on site where the work needs the room.
What does Proventarc mean?#
The name stems from Proventus, Latin for yield or what something produces, and Arc, the trajectory over time and the story of a character within a wider context. Together they name what the work is aimed at: improving the revenue line over months and quarters rather than a result at any single point. Most of the problems I am asked to assist with are not the result of a bad quarter. They are flat growth that a lot of people are working hard to hold up, when it needs to be sustainable and to scale.
Who is this for?#
Revenue leaders in B2B SaaS: CROs, Heads of Sales, Chief Customer Officers, and founders building their first revenue function. Fit turns on two things: a way of selling that already works, and a structure that has been outgrown by it. That second part shows up when a team passes the size a single manager can hold, or when a division has to reconcile its numbers with a head office that runs differently. Either one puts you in scope, and a division or region inside a much larger group counts as readily as a whole company. My own operating experience is in companies from £20m to £250m ARR, with exposure well beyond that.
What happens after the introductory call?#
If a diagnostic is the right next step, you get a scope: what is in, what is out, what the output answers, and what it costs. If it is not the right next step, I will say so on the call and point you at the help that fits.
Can we stop after the diagnostic?#
Yes. The diagnostic produces a document you can act on with or without me: the situation as I found it, what is causing it, the options with their trade-offs, and a recommendation you can take to a board.
